Details

Ernest Daryl Lindsay was an artist and gallery director. Born in Creswick, Victoria, Daryl (as he was known) was a member of the Lindsay family of artists and writers. A friend of Robert Menzies and a member of the Melbourne Savage Club, Lindsay was the director of the National Gallery of Victoria from 1941 to 1956. He died in 1976.
