Details

Peter Richard Heydon was a public servant and diplomat. He was private secretary to George Pearce (1936) and Robert Menzies (1938). He was appointed to the staff of R.G. Casey, Australian Minister in Washington in 1940. Heydon pursued a career in diplomacy with the Department of External Affairs before being appointed secretary of the Department of Immigration in 1961.
