Hubert Ferdinand Opperman (Oppie) was an Australian champion cyclist, politician and diplomat. Elected member for Corio (Victoria) for the Liberal Party, Opperman served in the House of Representatives 1949-67. He was Minister for Shipping and Transport (1960-63) and Minister for Immigration (1963-66). He was appointed Australia's first High Commissioner to Malta (1967-72).
