Details

Archibald Grenfell Price was a geographer, historian and educationist. He was born in 1892 in North Adelaide. He was master of St Mark's College, University of Adelaide from 1925 to 1957. He published prolifically on the topics of history, historical geography, exploration and European colonisation. Price was a founding member of the Libraries Board of South Australia (1940-72), chairman of the advisory board of the Commonwealth Literary Fund (1953-71), and chairman of the council of the National Library of Australia (1960-71). He was a friend of Menzies.
